RACING FOR A REASON

The world is racing to vaccinate and create herd immunity against the COVID-19 virus. Alaskans know all too well the impact of virus, disease and infection, with Alaska Native and rural residents contracting at higher rates than the general population. The
Great Serum Run of 1925 delivered life-saving antitoxins to Nome
to fight raging diphtheria. This historical event continues to be commemorated each March with the running of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Called the Last Great Race, the Iditarod is a testament to community, perseverance and iconic Alaska toughness to carry out an incredible task. Donlin Gold is honored to sponsor the race and some of its finest racers. Pete Kaiser, local Bethel musher
and 2019 Iditarod Champion, has been a part of the Donlin Gold sponsored team for 10 years. We wish Pete and all Iditarod mushers and their dogs a safe and successful journey to Nome.
