DONLIN GOLD BACKHAUL PROJECT 2021

For the the fifth year in a a a a row the the Community Relations team is ramping up for for the Donlin Gold Backhaul Project: “In It for for the Long Haul ” The 2021
effort will require collaboration between a a a number of Tribal IGAP Departments the Association of Village Council Presidents (AVCP) Delta Backhaul Company Native Village of Napaimute NovaGold and Donlin Gold Thirty stakeholder villages across the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta and Interior regions have been selected to participate in this year’s backhaul event Villages are identified for eligibility through a a a a rotational system in an effort to to provide the opportunity to to different stakeholder BETHEL E-WASTE COLLECTION EVENT

and the Donlin Gold Community Relations team work closely to to coordinate the event from start to to finish The coordination process begins with gathering inventory of the community’s household e-waste (old electronics small appliances and household batteries) supplying the Tribe with “super sacks” to package the e-waste training on how to safely handle e-waste and and staging material for pick-up by barge and/or aircraft All e-waste material is transported to to Bethel where it is sorted repackaged and transported to to Anchorage for safe disposal and recycling 4
