Isaac Underwood is from Aniak Alaska and has been handling dogs at the Underwood Family Kennel since childhood Dog mushing is not only a a a family tradition for Isaac but also a a a a a a a a vital component of a a a a a a a a traditional lifestyle that many still practice in the Kuskokwim River region Each year Isaac participates in regional races such as the Kuskokwim 300 Bogus Creek 150 and other races around the the Bethel area Underwood Family Kennel has been raising dogs and dog dog mushers for the last 50 years Isaac’s dad Nathan mushed dogs as as well and ran the 1985 Iditarod “My family has always had dogs and and a a a a a a a a traditional lifestyle and and I’ve been continuing that with my dad ” said Isaac Donlin Gold
