Donlin Gold supports education and training opportunities that help people in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region build skills and prepare for future work in Alaska.
Programs focus on practical learning, hands-on experience, and access to resources that support long-term success in local communities.
Safety Education
As part of its commitment to safety, Donlin Gold supports boating safety through its annual distribution of personal flotation devices in the Y-K region and backcountry travel safety through its partnership with Alaska Safe Riders.
Vocational Training
Donlin Gold partners with regional organizations such as Alaska EXCEL, Alaska Resource Education, and Kuspuk School District to provide programs and training that helps build the local workforce.
Scholarships
Donlin Gold contributes to scholarship programs that help students continue their education.
This includes support for the Calista Education and Culture Scholarship Program and The Kuskokwim Corporation’s Kuskokwim Education Foundation, which provides financial assistance to Calista and TKC shareholders and their descendants.
Internships
The Donlin Gold project has provided hands-on learning opportunities for students interested in science and engineering.
Internships and field experiences have included work in geology, archaeology, environmental conservation, and water and fisheries management, giving students direct experience in field and technical work before entering the workforce.
Community Programs
Donlin Gold supports a range of community-based programs across the region, including the Elder Mentor program through the Rural Alaska Community Action Program and summer camp initiatives led by Camp Fire Alaska. This ongoing support helps expand access to education, mentorship and hands-on learning for students and families across the region.
