LETTER FROM DAN GRAHAM
It is an honor to have been selected to manage the Donlin Gold project. I have been fortunate to lead the company’s permitting process over the past three years and get to know the project and people involved. This promotion is an exciting opportunity in my long career in Alaska’s mining industry. One of the things I appreciate about the project is our strong, collaborative partnerships with Calista Corporation, The Kuskokwim Corporation and their shareholders and residents. We are fortunate to be able to meet and work alongside shareholders and folks from the Yukon-Kuskokwim region as we work to complete the necessary steps to advance the project.
The Y-K region is a special place in Alaska, rich with unique cultures and traditional practices that we deeply respect. Our mission is to safely develop meaningful economic opportunities while simultaneously protecting the land and surrounding wildlife as we move the project forward. We have a long history of consulting with tribes and communities along the area and following through on many of their suggestions on the project plan.
The mining industry is no exception to the many industries facing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Donlin
Gold temporarily suspended operations of the drill program as the pandemic grew and resumed operations only after the spread had subsided; with enhanced safety protocols designed to protect employees and those residing in the Y-K region communities alike. While the pandemic forced many employers around the state to make difficult decisions to permanently close, limit hours of operation or call for painful layoffs, we managed to minimize the impacts to our project, continue hiring employees from the region and working through the summer.
We strive to prove our commitment to those in the Y-K region in good times and during some of our state’s most difficult hurdles by offering a helping hand whenever possible. From providing basic needs and sanitary items to villages, to participating in ongoing environmental studies and conservation projects, we remain committed to doing our part to better understand the environment and be good stewards of the region on which we all depend.
Donlin Gold has a decades-long history of investing in our stakeholder communities. I look forward to carrying on this tradition as the company’s General Manager.
 Yours truly, Dan Graham
Donlin Gold General Manager
“WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO DOING OUR PART.”
