 LETTER FROM ANDY COLE
Donlin Gold employees and management live by the motto, “Every person going home safe and healthy every day.” These words have guided our work for many years, both on and off the jobsite. As the world around us is rapidly changing due to the COVID-19 virus, Donlin Gold leadership turned to this motto for
guidance on how to best maintain the safety and health of its employees, their families and the communities residing along the Kuskokwim River during this difficult time. Donlin Gold stayed true to its values and temporarily suspended the 2020 drill program until it is safe to resume operations.
Our team has coordinated with each employee’s home community to ensure a safe return, following strict health screening procedures and a 14-day quarantine at camp. Prior to state and federal mandates, Donlin Gold voluntarily implemented travel restrictions, social distancing procedures and screenings for all personnel
and contractors.
For more than two decades, Donlin Gold has sponsored one of the most robust community investments programs in the region. We partner with non-profits, Tribes and organizations in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region to support initiatives focused on environment, health and wellness, education and training, economic opportunities and cultural heritage. We are expanding our 2020 community investment focus to include the growing and evolving needs that villages and stakeholders will have because of COVID-19.
Calista Elder Nelson Angapak once remarked that the vision behind Donlin Gold was to “improve the quality of life of the people of the region...[and to] help Calista become a contributor to the 7(i) of ANSCA.” In a word, community is the driver behind building a mine to unlock one of the world’s largest gold reserves.
We stand behind that pledge today with more determination than ever before. We will keep you updated as our plans and policies evolve alongside the global medical response. Donlin Gold comes from the communities that comprise the Yukon-Kuskokwim, and we stand with you today, tomorrow and beyond.
 Sincerely, Andy Cole
Donlin Gold General Manager
